COME FROM AWAY
COME FROM AWAY follows the incredible real-life journey of 7,000 air passengers who were grounded in Gander, Newfoundland in Canada in the wake of the September 11 tragedy. The small community that welcomed the ‘come from aways’ into their lives provided hope and compassion to those in need.
COME FROM AWAY won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical (Christopher Ashley) and four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, Best Theatre Choreographer (Kelly Devine), Best Sound Design (Gareth Owen) and Outstanding Achievement in Music. Since its Australian premiere in 2019 the production has added five Green Room awards, including Best Production and Best Ensemble, to its award tally, along with being voted Ticketmaster’s ‘Ticket of the Year’ by Australian audiences.

A feel good production capturing kindness in a chaotic and sad time
This would have to be one of the most entertaining, funny and flawless musicals that I have ever been to. The energy and professionalism of the performers was outstanding as was the music, the storyline and comedy. Not to be missed!!

Brilliantly polished production this show highlights a constellation of precious human emotions. This unique 100 minute musical reveals the immediate chaos brought to this small town when thousands of people descend on it looking for help.
Uplifting and shining bright the town is a positivity beacon. It is what real kindness is…these townspeople pull together and it is awe inspiring!
All the while the pure evil of the 9/11 tragedy seared deeply into the hearts and consciousness of everyone around the world. A must see for many reasons!
What a great show, music and cast. Go see it!
The fact that this is the third Melbourne season of this wonderful uplifting show says it all. The incredible story is told by a fabulous cast, great music and a sime but very effective set. The ease that the cast switched between different characters simply by putting on a hat or jacket was so subtle it went unnoticed until each character appeared. Emotional scenes were peppered with humour so that the darkest moments still showed hope and the humankty of the island's residents. it was great to see the band integrating onstage with the action and especially for the playout. A show that everyone should see

Highly recommend, so many sub-plots and story lines running through the show. Enjoyed the energy and fast moving pace.
Loved some of the toe tapping songs and the singers were on point, with their emotions, characters and tune.
Great use of chairs to establish the scenes, with seamless movement.
A very full show with something for everybody.
