An incredible mix of movement, light, visual imagery & emotion

Days Like These is a beautiful and evocative play directed by Sarah-Vyne Vassallo. It is an exploration of the varied ways that humans express their emotions from one day to the next.

The play took us on a journey through a series of emotive snap-shots as we, the audience, began to reflect on and revisit the best and worst days of our lives. It bravely pulled back layers as the cast shared true stories of joy, loss, frustration and change.

The stage was beautifully presented with projected images, light, visual imagery, text, sound score, infra-red bodies and uses of microscopic images of dried human tears which demonstrated a cellular level that we are all the same. It was a marvellous mix of movement, light, visual imagery and sound score.

There are the best of days...

There are the worst of the days...

And then there are days like these... 

Days Like These examined emotional thresholds as well as attempting to hold a mirror up for all of us to ask - what kind of day is today?

The raw performance demonstrated that creativity and performing arts are an integral part of social justice and connect with the audience to wider themes including inclusion and political and religious ideologies.

The cast executed with great brilliance and were absolutely breathtakingly beautiful to watch!

It was a relaxed contemporary performance which featured a journey of emotions from laughter to sadness as well as showcasing true stories that celebrate both the episodic and resilient nature of the human spirit.
