When love is the answer
The Australian production of Ghost | The Musical is a striking visual and auditory delight.
The impressive use of technology adds an additional dimension to the supernatural elements of this production.
Wendy Mae Brown stole the show; she just rocked the house down with her voice and loud, comical personality.
Jemma Rix (Molly) and Rob Mills (Sam) oozed chemistry and were completely absorbed into their characters.
where love goes beyond this lifetime
It is a rare occasion for me to become emotional at a musical. Tears rolled down my cheek at the time when Sam was leaving this world and he was saying goodbye to Molly. He finally told her that he loved her, that he always loved her (she had doubts when he was alive). It is times like this that I start peeking into the eyes of my neighbouring audience members to see - is it just crazy me or are others feeling a sense of heightened emotion also? Well, the two people either side of me seemed to be doing just fine. Must be just me.
I took my 4 year old daughter with me - not advisable if your child is not used to going to the theatre as there are loud sounds, fighting and complex themes about afterlife. However, if your child is used to the theatre - this is great exposure. Mika closed her eyes and hid under my jacket a few times. However, overall she loved it and we are now discussing the topic of ghosts and what happens after death! Ah, interesting times.
Go see this love story - it will live in you for days to come.
