The Blues Brothers boat cruises is nothing short of high quality entertainment. The Lady Cutler Showboat takes us on a trip around the bay from Docklands to Williamstown, Port Melbourne through to St Kilda beach. As soon as we begin our journey, Lady Cutler becomes a party house with Blues Brothers tunes on the upper deck and a DJ on the lower.
It is shaking with adrenalin. This is not to be confused with people being giddy and turning green. In fact, it is quite the opposite. The skipper of the boat, Jeff Gordon, ensures his guests get a smooth ride. So, unless you look outside, you would think you are on dry land.
The Blues Brothers band is spectacular – from their outfits, singing, characters and attitude! The show is a tribute to the classic 1980s musical comedy, The Blues Brothers. They play all the familiar tunes that you just cannot sit still! Fans surround the band and some people could not stop themselves from taking videos of the entire show.
The three and a half hours went by in an eye-blink. Great music, good quality food, a large selection of drinks and good company makes for an unforgettable evening.
I am now looking forward to their next cruise, The Swinging 60s & Stellar 70s Cruise. If history is anything to go by, this should also be a winner.
